Capistrano Unified continues
to set academic goals and serve the students by following a
motto of "Excellence in Education". The most
recent evidence of this commitment has been demonstrated by
having six elementary schools within the district be
identified as California Distinguished Schools by the
California Department of Education.
Capistrano Unified continues
to garner a strong reputation for academic excellence
derived from high standards and a strong staff, and by
fostering a strong commitment from both the community and
the parents. The district's mission is to partner with the
home and community in order to educate students and to
assist them in realizing their full potential as responsible
and productive members of society. All of this is achieved
by providing an educational environment in which students
are challenged to produce excellence in every aspect of
their lives.

SVUSD provides a highly
regarded educational program that has led to a very positive
local and national reputation. Most of the success of the
students has been a result of focusing teacher energies into
emphasizing that students must develop basic skills and
learn how to maximize them for complex problem solving and
analysis. A strong support staff, plenty of parent
involvement, and a strong bond with the community have also
contributed to Saddleback's success.
The use of technology as an
educational tool is also a top priority for Saddleback
Valley. This, combined with an academic environment that
strives to ingrain into students the ability to solve
problems, analyze facts, and draw proper conclusions based
on information gathered, prepares students in this school
district for future endeavors that are even more
challenging. In addition to academics, a variety of
opportunities outside the classroom are made available to
the students. Everything from athletic membership, to
performing and fine arts programs, insure that the students
are well versed in many aspects of academia.
