Areas of the city

Lake
Forest North and Lake Forest South are the
original, older areas of the city and include the
community formerly known as El Toro. These
areas of the city include the Lake Forest lakes (lakes
one and two) from which the city got its name, the Sun
& Sail Club, Heritage Hill Historic Park, and a
revitalized, upscale shopping district off of El Toro
road called "The Arbor". Homes in there
areas are close to the 5 Freeway and Laguna Hills

Ranch and Portola Hills started out as
unincorporated residential communities of Trabuco
Canyon. They were incorporated into the city of Lake
Forest in the late 90s. These are newer areas in the
northern section of the city that include condos, town
homes, and single family homes, as well as a new
shopping center, restaurants, office buildings, car
dealerships, library, and the Whiting Ranch wilderness
area. Homes in these areas are close to the 241 and
133 Toll Roads for convenient access to Irvine, Rancho
santa Margarita, and the 5, 405, and 91 Freeways.. |

Crestview, Lyon Breeze, Lyon Heights, Lyon Hills,
